How To Paint Expressively-Be Yourself

Up And Down

Here is a short video that will give you an idea of what I go through as I paint an abstract.

Abstracts are to me a very special style especially the non-objective style.  "Non-objective art is abstract or non-representational art. It tends to be geometric and does not represent specific objects, people, or other subjects found in the natural world. One of the best-known non-objective artists is Wassily Kandinsky."  (ThoughtCO)

Whatever the case maybe, abstracts are a great way to explore the inside of things.  It opens itself up to a personal exploration.

In the painting above, I do not start with any idea or even have a notion of what or how it should look.  I do start with color and texture, but not in a sense of planning.  I use colors that I like, and if it doesn't look well with the other colors I have introduced into the painting, I paint over it.

It's really about coming together with those dark or not so dark emotions and feelings that really have no words.  It's a way open up the heart and soul and as Picasso said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

Whether you are the painter or the one who stumbles across the artwork, it really washes away all the soul's dust of the day....
